The BXL TOUR is an individual cycling race open to semi-professionals and cycling enthusiasts. Each participant must behave appropriately in all circumstances, demonstrate fair play, and loyally contribute to the sporting success of the event, with joy and good humour. Any assault, threat, insult, indecent behaviour or endangering of others is therefore strictly forbidden.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Registration<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Registration is performed via the Ultratiming website and will only be validated after receipt of the registration fee.<\/p>

The registration is nominative but can only be transferred to a third party if an express request to this effect is made by email to the organisation at least 10 calendar days before the start of the race at info@bxltour.be<\/a>, mentioning the identity of the third party to whom the registration is transferred. After this period, the organisation cannot guarantee a response to the request, and this will not give rise to a refund of the registration fee. The registration fee will only be refunded in the event of inability to participate in the race for medical reasons as evidenced by a medical certificate and subject to the following requirements: This certificate should be sent by email to info@bxltour.be<\/a> at the latest 2 calendar days before the start of the race and must have been drawn up at least one week before it is sent. In this case, however, a contribution to the administration costs of 5 euros will be deducted from the reimbursement of the registration fee.<\/p>

By registering, each participant acknowledges that they have read these Rules and undertake to respect them.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Timing & ranking<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In order to get your time, each participant must complete the entire race on their own bike, using their own power and without the help of anyone else. The finish line may be crossed on foot, but each cyclist must be accompanied by their own bike.<\/p>

The timing is performed by an accurate electronic timing device and the results are reported in minutes and seconds. Each participant in the BXL TOUR must attach their numbered plate securely and visibly to the front of their bicycle. The numbered plate must not be bent, otherwise the chip will not function properly.<\/p>

The timings for the Master and Cyclo categories will be ranked in descending order of performance. The timings for Paracycling will be sorted in alphabetical order. The ranking of the event may be corrected by the organisation within 30 days of the end of the race should material errors in the recording of the running order of the riders arise.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Equipment<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Each participant must have their own equipment and is personally responsible for it. The use of a well-maintained and functioning bicycle is mandatory (inflated tyres, efficient braking system, etc.). A rigid safety helmet must be worn throughout the entire race, from the start to the finish line, and must be properly fitted on the head and held in place with a sufficiently tight chinstrap. Participation will be refused if the participant does not have a helmet.<\/p>

Glass containers, fixed gear bicycles, unicycles, child seats (except in the RIDE category), trailers, cargo bicycles and time trial bicycles are not permitted. Extenders are also prohibited, as is the use of the forearms as a support on the handlebars.<\/p>

Electrically assisted bicycles that don’t go faster than 25km\/h are only allowed in the RIDE and PARACYCLING category<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Hand bikes, tricycles, reclining bikes and tandems are only allowed in the PARACYCLING category. Hand bikes must be equipped with a flag or pennant indicating their presence, attached to the end of a strong, flexible rod at least 1.5m above the ground.<\/p>

Any participant not respecting the above-mentioned instructions may be refused access to the starting area and\/or be disqualified from the race.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The 40km route<\/a> will be a \u201croad\u201d type of circuit (asphalt or cobblestone) and will be fully marked; The Organization reserves the right to modify the route. Participants must follow the route and may not take any shortcuts, which would result in immediate disqualification. Intermediate timing mats will be set up to prevent any attempt at fraud.<\/p>

The participants undertake to comply with the organization\u2019s instructions from the moment they enter the start area, throughout the route, and until they leave the finish area.<\/p>

The rules of the road will only be applied if a participant is overtaken by the broom wagon and is therefore in traffic (out of the race).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Being in good health is essential to take part in the race. This is why the organization recommends a preventive medical examination by a qualified sports doctor.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Each participant is responsible for their own equipment and for any accidents they cause. If a participant behaves inappropriately towards another participant, the latter may file a complaint with the police at the police station of their choice.
